1. Vetting and Background Checks
Every candidate placed by SolidRock is subject to stringent screening processes as a mandatory condition of registration:
- Garda Vetting: All healthcare assistants, nurses, and doctors must clear National Vetting Bureau (NVB) checks prior to deployment.
- Police Clearance: Candidates who have resided outside Ireland for a cumulative period of 6 months or more after age 18 must supply verified police clearance certificates from those jurisdictions.
- References: We check a minimum of two verified clinical references, including the candidate's most recent employer.
2. Training and Awareness
To ensure patient safety, candidates are required to complete regular training including:
- Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse (HSE land standard)
- Children First E-learning (under the Children First Act 2015)
- Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)
- Patient Moving and Handling
3. Reporting and Escalation
Any safeguarding concern raised by a placed staff member or client facility is treated with absolute priority. Concerns are immediately escalated to the appropriate statutory body, including Tusla (Child and Family Agency), the HSE Safeguarding and Protection Teams, or An Garda Síochána.
